What should I know about coloured and woodgrain roller garage doors in Paignton?

Remember that a large flat door can make a colour look slightly different from the same shade on a narrow window frame.
Check with your local planning authority before changing colour if your home is listed or in a conservation area.
Think about the inside face of the door if the garage is integral or used as a room, since finishes can differ by side.
Decide whether you want the guide rails and box in the same finish, especially if the box will be face-fitted outside.

How does it work in Paignton?

Once you accept the quote, the door is ordered in that finish and the fitting date is confirmed in writing. The date depends on installer availability.

Rules that apply in Paignton

Planning

Replacing a garage door is not usually development that needs planning permission. Check first if your home is listed (listed building consent covers works that affect its character), sits in a conservation area with an Article 4 direction, or is on an estate where planning conditions or covenants control garage doors.

Structural work

Widening the opening, removing a central pier or fitting a new lintel is structural work that needs Building Regulations approval from building control before it starts.

Coloured and woodgrain roller garage doors in Paignton: questions

Can I message you a photo of my garage in Paignton?

Yes. Photos of the opening, the inside of the garage above the door and any existing door help us give a more useful guide price for Paignton. Send them by WhatsApp or mention them in your enquiry, and we will reply in writing.

How much do coloured and woodgrain roller garage doors cost in Paignton?

Our guide price for coloured and woodgrain roller garage doors is from £990 inc VAT. The figure for your garage depends on the opening size, the door specification and any extras, and is confirmed in a written quote after a free survey. The guide prices are the same in Paignton as elsewhere we cover.

Do I need permission for a new roller garage door in Paignton?

Replacing a garage door is not usually development that needs planning permission in England, and widening the opening needs building control approval. If you live in a listed building, a conservation area or on an estate with covenants or planning conditions, check before ordering.

Do you cover Paignton?

Yes. Paignton is part of the area we cover in Devon, including TQ3, TQ4 and TQ2. Get a guide price online, then we confirm a survey or visit date in writing. Dates depend on installer and engineer availability.

Can I have different colours on the inside and outside of the door?

That depends on what the manufacturer offers for the door you choose, because the finish options for the inside face of the curtain vary from one model to another. Tell us at the survey if the inside colour matters to you, for example on an integral garage you use as a utility space, and we'll confirm it in writing.

Can I see a colour sample before ordering?

It's sensible to see a physical sample where one is available, because screens and printed charts don't show colours accurately. Ask about samples when you book your survey. If you already have a RAL code from your windows or front door, that code is the most precise way to tell us the colour you want.
