Summary

Guide prices are guides. The written quote after a survey or the agreed visit price is the price. Your contract is with S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd. For new doors, payment is 50% on acceptance, 40% on the first day of fitting and 10% on completion. Made-to-measure doors can be cancelled free of charge until we order them, and you keep all your rights under consumer law.

1. Who we are

This website is provided by Roller Garage Doors, a trading name of S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 16932889, registered office Unit 1 Hembs Crescent, Great Barr, Birmingham B43 5DG. Part of the S&K Group.

2. Guide prices and quotes

Prices on this website and in the guide price tool are guides for homes, shown inc VAT at the current rate, and are not offers. After a survey we send a written quote that sets out the door, the work included, the price inc VAT and the payment stages. A written quote is valid for 30 days unless it says otherwise. Business customers are quoted plus VAT.

3. When the contract starts

A contract is formed when you accept our written quote (or the agreed visit price for a repair) and we confirm the order or booking in writing. Fitting may be carried out by approved subcontracted installers working under our supervision and these terms; your contract stays with S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd.

4. Payment

For new doors, replacements and conversions: 50% on acceptance of the quote, 40% on the first day of fitting, and the 10% balance on satisfactory completion. For repairs, servicing and upgrades: payment on completion of the visit, unless a part has to be ordered, in which case the quote for that part explains when it is paid.

5. Your right to cancel

Made-to-measure doors. A roller garage door is made to your measurements and specification, so the legal right to cancel within 14 days does not apply to it (regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013). As our own policy, we will tell you in writing before we order your door from the manufacturer, and you can cancel free of charge at any time before that point. Any deposit is then refunded in full within 14 days.

Repairs, upgrades and parts. Where a visit supplies goods as well as work (for example remote handsets, a keypad, a battery unit, photocells or a motor), you can cancel within 14 days of the day you receive the goods.

Labour-only services. For work that supplies no goods, such as a service, you can cancel within 14 days of the day the contract is made.

Starting work early. We only start work within the cancellation period if you ask us to, in writing. If you then cancel, you pay a proportionate amount for the work done up to the time you told us. Once a service has been fully performed at your request, and you have acknowledged that you lose the right to cancel at that point, you can no longer cancel it.

How to cancel. Tell us clearly by email to sales@roller-garage-doors.uk, by post to Unit 1 Hembs Crescent, Great Barr, Birmingham B43 5DG, or by phone on 0800 088 6248. You can use the model cancellation form below, but you do not have to. We refund any money due within 14 days of your cancellation (or, for goods, within 14 days of getting them back or of your proof of return, whichever is earlier), using the same payment method.

Model cancellation form: To S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd, Unit 1 Hembs Crescent, Great Barr, Birmingham B43 5DG, sales@roller-garage-doors.uk. I/We hereby give notice that I/We cancel my/our contract for the supply of the following goods / the following service: [details]. Ordered on / received on: [date]. Name of consumer(s): [name]. Address of consumer(s): [address]. Signature (only if on paper) and date.

6. Surveys, access and preparation

Please give us safe access to the garage and clear the area near the opening before the fitting day. If the survey or fitting finds something that could not reasonably be seen beforehand, such as a failed lintel or hidden structural damage, we will stop, explain and quote for it before doing any extra work.

7. Our responsibilities

We supply goods that match their description and are of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose, and carry out services with reasonable care and skill, as the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires. If our workmanship falls short, we will put it right at no cost to you. Manufacturer's warranty terms for the door, motor and controls are set out in writing with your quote. We agree the fitting date with you in writing. If no date is agreed, we fit within 30 days of the contract. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights.

8. Powered doors

Every powered door we fit is commissioned, including force testing to BS EN 12453, and handed over with its Declaration of Conformity and marking. Please follow the user instructions, test the safety devices as described, and do not let children play with the door or the controls.

9. Complaints

If something is not right, tell us first so we can put it right. If we cannot agree, you can get free advice from Citizens Advice (or Advice Direct Scotland or Consumerline in Northern Ireland). We are not currently signed up to an alternative dispute resolution scheme. Consumers in Scotland and Northern Ireland keep the protections and court rights of their own nation.
