What should I know about coloured and woodgrain roller garage doors in Aberystwyth?

Compare any colour against your house in daylight, as screens and printed charts rarely show a shade accurately.
Check with your local planning authority before changing colour if your home is listed or in a conservation area.
Read your deeds for covenants about the front of the house, which some newer estates use to control colours.
Decide whether you want the guide rails and box in the same finish, especially if the box will be face-fitted outside.

Rules that apply in Aberystwyth

Planning

Replacing a garage door is not usually development that needs planning permission in Wales. Check first if your home is listed (listed building consent covers works that affect its character), is in a conservation area with an Article 4 direction, or is on an estate where planning conditions or covenants control garage doors.

Structural work

Widening the opening, removing a central pier or fitting a new lintel is structural work that needs Building Regulations approval from building control in Wales before it starts.

Coloured and woodgrain roller garage doors in Aberystwyth: questions

How much do coloured and woodgrain roller garage doors cost in Aberystwyth?

Our guide price for coloured and woodgrain roller garage doors is from £990 inc VAT. The door price depends on the opening size, the specification and any extras. Travel to Aberystwyth is priced individually and shown in your written quote before you agree to anything.

How long does it take to fit a roller garage door in Aberystwyth?

Most single domestic roller doors are fitted in a day once the door has been made, including removing the old door. Wider doors, conversions that need building work and jobs where power has to be run can take longer; the quote says what to expect.

How do surveys work in Aberystwyth?

Surveys in Aberystwyth are arranged individually because of travel. Any travel charge is confirmed in writing before the survey is booked, so you know the full cost before anyone comes out, and there is no obligation to go ahead with the quote.

Do you cover Aberystwyth?

Yes. Aberystwyth is part of the area we cover in Dyfed, including SY23. Get a guide price online, then we confirm a survey or visit date in writing. Dates depend on installer and engineer availability.

Will the guide rails and box match the door colour?

It's worth asking at the survey. On most fittings the box sits inside the garage, but the guide rails can be visible from outside, and a face-fitted box is fully on show. Finish options for the guides and box depend on the door model, so tell us what you'd like and the quote will state exactly what's included.

Can I see a colour sample before ordering?

It's sensible to see a physical sample where one is available, because screens and printed charts don't show colours accurately. Ask about samples when you book your survey. If you already have a RAL code from your windows or front door, that code is the most precise way to tell us the colour you want.
