What should I know about coloured and woodgrain roller garage doors in Wallington?

Compare any colour against your house in daylight, as screens and printed charts rarely show a shade accurately.
Check with your local planning authority before changing colour if your home is listed or in a conservation area.
Think about the inside face of the door if the garage is integral or used as a room, since finishes can differ by side.
Ask whether the colour you want is in the manufacturer's range, because colours outside it are priced separately on survey.

How does it work in Wallington?

Once you accept the quote, the door is ordered in that finish and the fitting date is confirmed in writing. The date depends on installer availability.

Rules that apply in Wallington

Planning

Replacing a garage door is not usually development that needs planning permission. Check first if your home is listed (listed building consent covers works that affect its character), sits in a conservation area with an Article 4 direction, or is on an estate where planning conditions or covenants control garage doors.

Structural work

Widening the opening, removing a central pier or fitting a new lintel is structural work that needs Building Regulations approval from building control before it starts.

Coloured and woodgrain roller garage doors in Wallington: questions

Is the survey in Wallington really free?

Yes. For a new door, a replacement or a conversion, the survey is free and there is no obligation to go ahead. We measure the opening, check the lintel, headroom, side room and power, and send a written quote afterwards.

How long does it take to fit a roller garage door in Wallington?

Most single domestic roller doors are fitted in a day once the door has been made, including removing the old door. Wider doors, conversions that need building work and jobs where power has to be run can take longer; the quote says what to expect.

How much do coloured and woodgrain roller garage doors cost in Wallington?

Our guide price for coloured and woodgrain roller garage doors is from £990 inc VAT. The figure for your garage depends on the opening size, the door specification and any extras, and is confirmed in a written quote after a free survey. The guide prices are the same in Wallington as elsewhere we cover.

Can I get a price for Wallington without anyone visiting?

Yes. The guide price tool takes four steps and gives a range for your opening and door type. It is a guide, not a quote: the written quote comes after the survey or once the visit price is agreed.

Can I see a colour sample before ordering?

It's sensible to see a physical sample where one is available, because screens and printed charts don't show colours accurately. Ask about samples when you book your survey. If you already have a RAL code from your windows or front door, that code is the most precise way to tell us the colour you want.

Can I paint my existing roller garage door a new colour?

We supply new doors in the finish you choose rather than repainting existing doors. Painting a roller curtain yourself could affect how the laths coil and run in the guides, and may affect the manufacturer's warranty terms. If your door is tired and you want a new colour, a replacement door in your chosen finish is the reliable route.
