What should I know about coloured and woodgrain roller garage doors in Abergavenny?

Ask whether the colour you want is in the manufacturer's range, because colours outside it are priced separately on survey.
Think about the inside face of the door if the garage is integral or used as a room, since finishes can differ by side.
Remember that a large flat door can make a colour look slightly different from the same shade on a narrow window frame.
Compare any colour against your house in daylight, as screens and printed charts rarely show a shade accurately.

Rules that apply in Abergavenny

Planning

Replacing a garage door is not usually development that needs planning permission in Wales. Check first if your home is listed (listed building consent covers works that affect its character), is in a conservation area with an Article 4 direction, or is on an estate where planning conditions or covenants control garage doors.

Structural work

Widening the opening, removing a central pier or fitting a new lintel is structural work that needs Building Regulations approval from building control in Wales before it starts.

Coloured and woodgrain roller garage doors in Abergavenny: questions

Can you remove my old garage door in Abergavenny?

Yes. Every door price includes removing and disposing of an old roller or up-and-over door at your Abergavenny address, along with standard fixings and making good to the reveals. If the frame or lintel needs work, we price it at the survey before you agree.

Can I message you a photo of my garage in Abergavenny?

Yes. Photos of the opening, the inside of the garage above the door and any existing door help us give a more useful guide price for Abergavenny. Send them by WhatsApp or mention them in your enquiry, and we will reply in writing.

Do you charge more for Abergavenny than other towns in Gwent?

No. Guide prices are the same for Abergavenny as for anywhere else we cover in Gwent. The written quote reflects your opening and the door you choose, not your postcode, apart from islands and remote areas where any travel cost is shown in advance.

How much do coloured and woodgrain roller garage doors cost in Abergavenny?

Our guide price for coloured and woodgrain roller garage doors is from £990 inc VAT. The figure for your garage depends on the opening size, the door specification and any extras, and is confirmed in a written quote after a free survey. The guide prices are the same in Abergavenny as elsewhere we cover.

Will the guide rails and box match the door colour?

It's worth asking at the survey. On most fittings the box sits inside the garage, but the guide rails can be visible from outside, and a face-fitted box is fully on show. Finish options for the guides and box depend on the door model, so tell us what you'd like and the quote will state exactly what's included.

Does a woodgrain roller door need treating like real timber?

No. A woodgrain finish is a wood effect on aluminium or steel laths, so it doesn't need staining, oiling or varnishing like timber. Clean it as the manufacturer recommends and keep the guide rails free of debris. Manufacturer's warranty terms for the door and its finish are set out in writing in your quote.
