What should I know about coloured and woodgrain roller garage doors in Rushden?

Decide whether you want the guide rails and box in the same finish, especially if the box will be face-fitted outside.
Ask whether the colour you want is in the manufacturer's range, because colours outside it are priced separately on survey.
Think about the inside face of the door if the garage is integral or used as a room, since finishes can differ by side.
Read your deeds for covenants about the front of the house, which some newer estates use to control colours.

How does it work in Rushden?

Rules that apply in Rushden

Planning

Replacing a garage door is not usually development that needs planning permission. Check first if your home is listed (listed building consent covers works that affect its character), sits in a conservation area with an Article 4 direction, or is on an estate where planning conditions or covenants control garage doors.

Structural work

Widening the opening, removing a central pier or fitting a new lintel is structural work that needs Building Regulations approval from building control before it starts.

Coloured and woodgrain roller garage doors in Rushden: questions

What do you check at a survey in NN10?

At a survey in NN10 we measure the width and height of the opening, the headroom above it for the roller box, the side room for the guide rails and the floor level. We also look at the lintel and where power can come from for an electric door.

Do I need permission for a new roller garage door in Rushden?

Replacing a garage door is not usually development that needs planning permission in England, and widening the opening needs building control approval. If you live in a listed building, a conservation area or on an estate with covenants or planning conditions, check before ordering.

Do you charge more for Rushden than other towns in Northamptonshire?

No. Guide prices are the same for Rushden as for anywhere else we cover in Northamptonshire. The written quote reflects your opening and the door you choose, not your postcode, apart from islands and remote areas where any travel cost is shown in advance.

How much do coloured and woodgrain roller garage doors cost in Rushden?

Our guide price for coloured and woodgrain roller garage doors is from £990 inc VAT. The figure for your garage depends on the opening size, the door specification and any extras, and is confirmed in a written quote after a free survey. The guide prices are the same in Rushden as elsewhere we cover.

Can I paint my existing roller garage door a new colour?

We supply new doors in the finish you choose rather than repainting existing doors. Painting a roller curtain yourself could affect how the laths coil and run in the guides, and may affect the manufacturer's warranty terms. If your door is tired and you want a new colour, a replacement door in your chosen finish is the reliable route.

Can I see a colour sample before ordering?

It's sensible to see a physical sample where one is available, because screens and printed charts don't show colours accurately. Ask about samples when you book your survey. If you already have a RAL code from your windows or front door, that code is the most precise way to tell us the colour you want.
