What should I know about coloured and woodgrain roller garage doors in Aldridge?

Look through the paperwork for your windows or front door, because the RAL code is the most reliable way to match the colour.
Compare any colour against your house in daylight, as screens and printed charts rarely show a shade accurately.
Check with your local planning authority before changing colour if your home is listed or in a conservation area.
Read your deeds for covenants about the front of the house, which some newer estates use to control colours.

Rules that apply in Aldridge

Planning

Replacing a garage door is not usually development that needs planning permission. Check first if your home is listed (listed building consent covers works that affect its character), sits in a conservation area with an Article 4 direction, or is on an estate where planning conditions or covenants control garage doors.

Structural work

Widening the opening, removing a central pier or fitting a new lintel is structural work that needs Building Regulations approval from building control before it starts.

Coloured and woodgrain roller garage doors in Aldridge: questions

Do you cover Aldridge?

Yes. Aldridge is part of the area we cover in the West Midlands, including WS9, WS4 and WS8. Get a guide price online, then we confirm a survey or visit date in writing. Dates depend on installer and engineer availability.

Do you charge more for Aldridge than other towns in the West Midlands?

No. Guide prices are the same for Aldridge as for anywhere else we cover in the West Midlands. The written quote reflects your opening and the door you choose, not your postcode, apart from islands and remote areas where any travel cost is shown in advance.

Is an electric roller door worth it for a garage in Aldridge?

That depends on how often you use the garage. An electric door opens from the car with a remote and has safety devices fitted, while a manual door costs less and suits occasional use. We price both for your Aldridge garage so you can compare.

How much do coloured and woodgrain roller garage doors cost in Aldridge?

Our guide price for coloured and woodgrain roller garage doors is from £990 inc VAT. The figure for your garage depends on the opening size, the door specification and any extras, and is confirmed in a written quote after a free survey. The guide prices are the same in Aldridge as elsewhere we cover.

Will the guide rails and box match the door colour?

It's worth asking at the survey. On most fittings the box sits inside the garage, but the guide rails can be visible from outside, and a face-fitted box is fully on show. Finish options for the guides and box depend on the door model, so tell us what you'd like and the quote will state exactly what's included.

Can I paint my existing roller garage door a new colour?

We supply new doors in the finish you choose rather than repainting existing doors. Painting a roller curtain yourself could affect how the laths coil and run in the guides, and may affect the manufacturer's warranty terms. If your door is tired and you want a new colour, a replacement door in your chosen finish is the reliable route.
