What should I know about double and wide roller garage doors in Leamington Spa?

Think about electric operation for any opening over 4 m, since the wide doubles in our price list are all electric.
Decide whether one wide door or two single doors suits how you use the garage, especially if there is a central pier.
Make sure there's a clear route from the road to the garage, because a curtain for a wide opening is long and awkward to carry.
Check whether the floor slopes or dips across the opening, as a wide bottom rail needs to sit evenly when closed.

Rules that apply in Leamington Spa

Structural work

Widening the opening, removing a central pier or fitting a new lintel is structural work that needs Building Regulations approval from building control before it starts.

Planning

Replacing a garage door is not usually development that needs planning permission. Check first if your home is listed (listed building consent covers works that affect its character), sits in a conservation area with an Article 4 direction, or is on an estate where planning conditions or covenants control garage doors.

Double and wide roller garage doors in Leamington Spa: questions

Can I get a price for Leamington Spa without anyone visiting?

Yes. The guide price tool takes four steps and gives a range for your opening and door type. It is a guide, not a quote: the written quote comes after the survey or once the visit price is agreed.

Can I message you a photo of my garage in Leamington Spa?

Yes. Photos of the opening, the inside of the garage above the door and any existing door help us give a more useful guide price for Leamington Spa. Send them by WhatsApp or mention them in your enquiry, and we will reply in writing.

Do you cover Leamington Spa?

Yes. Leamington Spa is part of the area we cover in Warwickshire, including CV31, CV32 and CV33. Get a guide price online, then we confirm a survey or visit date in writing. Dates depend on installer and engineer availability.

How much do double and wide roller garage doors cost in Leamington Spa?

Our guide price for double and wide roller garage doors is from £1,395 inc VAT. The figure for your garage depends on the opening size, the door specification and any extras, and is confirmed in a written quote after a free survey. The guide prices are the same in Leamington Spa as elsewhere we cover.

Is a manual roller door practical on a double garage?

It can be, but only up to 4 m in our price list, and you'll be lifting a long curtain by hand each time, even with spring assistance. For a garage opened every day, or anyone who would find that hard work, an electric door is usually the better choice. Wide doubles between 4 and 5.5 m in our price list are electric.

Will a roller door give me more width than my double up-and-over door?

Possibly a little. An up-and-over door has a frame and swing-out arms at the sides, and a roller door doesn't, so converting can improve the clear width slightly. The guide rails still need some side room at each end. We measure the clear width you'd get at survey, so you know before ordering.
