What should I know about remote control and keypad upgrades in Coalville?

Recoding after moving house means only the handsets you hold can open the door, whatever the previous owners kept.
Rolling-code handsets are matched to your door's receiver, paired during the visit and tested before we leave.
Smart receivers let you open and close the door from a phone app where the garage has dependable Wi-Fi.
Handsets and keypads are priced individually, so your confirmation shows the visit and each item you have chosen.

How does it work in Coalville?

We confirm the visit price and the cost of the handsets, keypad or receiver you've chosen. The visit is then booked, with the date confirmed in writing once an engineer is available.

Rules that apply in Coalville

Powered door safety

Every powered door we fit is commissioned with force testing to BS EN 12453 and handed over with a Declaration of Conformity and UKCA or CE marking, as the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 require.

Electrics

An electric door needs a power supply near the roller box. Electrical work must meet BS 7671, and in England some domestic electrical work is notifiable under Part P, so it is done by a registered competent person or signed off by building control.

Remote control and keypad upgrades in Coalville: questions

Do you repair roller doors you did not fit in Coalville?

Yes. We repair roller garage doors of any make in Coalville and across LE67, where parts are available. If a part is no longer made, we tell you what will fit instead, or price a replacement door if that is the better option.

How much is a visit in Coalville?

Prices for remote control and keypad upgrades start from £108 inc VAT, and the price is agreed before anyone comes out. Any parts not covered by that price are quoted before they are fitted, so you can decide on the spot. The guide prices are the same in Coalville as elsewhere we cover.

Will you fix the door on the first visit?

A fault can sometimes be found and put right on the first visit, but we never promise it. If a part needs ordering, we quote for it first, make the door safe where we can, and confirm the return date in writing.

Do you charge more for Coalville than other towns in Leicestershire?

No. Guide prices are the same for Coalville as for anywhere else we cover in Leicestershire. The written quote reflects your opening and the door you choose, not your postcode, apart from islands and remote areas where any travel cost is shown in advance.

Where is a wireless keypad fitted?

A wireless keypad is usually mounted on the wall outside, close to the garage door and at a comfortable height, so you can open the door without a handset. It communicates with the receiver without a cable to the control box. You choose the code, and you can change it later if you need to.

Does a smart receiver work with any electric roller door?

Not always. Some control boxes accept a smart receiver directly, while older or less common systems need a replacement receiver first. It also needs a dependable Wi-Fi signal at the garage. Tell us what control box you have and we'll confirm what's compatible, and the price, before the visit is booked.
