What should I know about remote control and keypad upgrades in North Yorkshire?
- Recoding clears the receiver's memory so a lost or stolen fob can no longer open your garage door.
- Handsets and keypads are priced individually, so your confirmation shows the visit and each item you have chosen.
- Recoding after moving house means only the handsets you hold can open the door, whatever the previous owners kept.
- Rolling-code handsets are matched to your door's receiver, paired during the visit and tested before we leave.

Rules that apply in England
Powered door safety
Every powered door we fit is commissioned with force testing to BS EN 12453 and handed over with a Declaration of Conformity and UKCA or CE marking, as the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 require.
Electrics
An electric door needs a power supply near the roller box. Electrical work must meet BS 7671, and in England some domestic electrical work is notifiable under Part P, so it is done by a registered competent person or signed off by building control.
Questions about remote control and keypad upgrades in North Yorkshire
How do I book a visit in North Yorkshire?
Tell us what the door is doing using the form on this page, by phone or on WhatsApp. We confirm the visit price before anyone comes out, then confirm the date in writing.
Which towns do you cover in North Yorkshire?
We cover North Yorkshire, including York, Middlesbrough, Harrogate and Scarborough. Every town has its own page with local details, and you can start a guide price for any postcode in North Yorkshire online.
Are guide prices the same across North Yorkshire?
Yes. The guide prices are the same in every town in North Yorkshire. The written quote reflects your opening and the door you choose, not your postcode.
Will recoding stop a lost fob from working?
Yes. Recoding clears the receiver's memory of paired handsets and then adds back only the ones you still have, plus any new ones. The lost or stolen fob is no longer recognised, so it can't open the door. It's sensible to do this after moving house as well, when you can't be sure how many handsets exist.
Does a smart receiver work with any electric roller door?
Not always. Some control boxes accept a smart receiver directly, while older or less common systems need a replacement receiver first. It also needs a dependable Wi-Fi signal at the garage. Tell us what control box you have and we'll confirm what's compatible, and the price, before the visit is booked.
