What should I know about remote control and keypad upgrades in Bloxwich?

Handsets and keypads are priced individually, so your confirmation shows the visit and each item you have chosen.
A smart receiver is only fitted where the door has both a safety edge and photocells, re-tested at fitting.
Older receivers that no longer accept current handsets can be replaced, with the fitted price confirmed before booking.
A wireless keypad mounted beside the door lets you open the garage with a private code instead of a handset.

Rules that apply in Bloxwich

Powered door safety

Every powered door we fit is commissioned with force testing to BS EN 12453 and handed over with a Declaration of Conformity and UKCA or CE marking, as the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 require.

Electrics

An electric door needs a power supply near the roller box. Electrical work must meet BS 7671, and in England some domestic electrical work is notifiable under Part P, so it is done by a registered competent person or signed off by building control.

Remote control and keypad upgrades in Bloxwich: questions

Do you cover Bloxwich?

Yes. Bloxwich is part of the area we cover in the West Midlands, including WS3, WS2 and WS4. Get a guide price online, then we confirm a survey or visit date in writing. Dates depend on installer and engineer availability.

Do you charge more for Bloxwich than other towns in the West Midlands?

No. Guide prices are the same for Bloxwich as for anywhere else we cover in the West Midlands. The written quote reflects your opening and the door you choose, not your postcode, apart from islands and remote areas where any travel cost is shown in advance.

Can I message you a photo of my garage in Bloxwich?

Yes. Photos of the opening, the inside of the garage above the door and any existing door help us give a more useful guide price for Bloxwich. Send them by WhatsApp or mention them in your enquiry, and we will reply in writing.

How much is a visit in Bloxwich?

Prices for remote control and keypad upgrades start from £108 inc VAT, and the price is agreed before anyone comes out. Any parts not covered by that price are quoted before they are fitted, so you can decide on the spot. The guide prices are the same in Bloxwich as elsewhere we cover.

Where is a wireless keypad fitted?

A wireless keypad is usually mounted on the wall outside, close to the garage door and at a comfortable height, so you can open the door without a handset. It communicates with the receiver without a cable to the control box. You choose the code, and you can change it later if you need to.

Can I buy a remote online and code it myself?

Sometimes, but only if the handset is compatible with your receiver, and many aren't. Rolling-code systems need the right handset type and the correct pairing steps from the motor maker. If you'd rather not risk buying the wrong one, tell us the make of your control box and we'll supply matched handsets and pair them during the visit.
