What should I know about roller garage door replacement in County Tyrone?

Springs on old manual doors hold stored energy, so our fitters release them with the proper tools before dismantling anything.
Reveals, lintel and fixing points are checked once the old door is off, and any making good is agreed with you first.
Where an old electric door already has power near the box, the supply is checked before it is reused for the new door.
The opening is measured again at the free survey, so the new door suits the opening rather than copying the old door's size.

Rules that apply in Northern Ireland

Planning

Replacing a garage door is not usually development that needs planning permission in Northern Ireland. Listed building consent applies to listed buildings, and conservation-area controls, planning conditions or covenants can restrict changes to how a garage looks, so check before ordering.

Structural work

Structural alterations, such as widening the opening or fitting a new lintel, need building control approval from your council under the Building Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2012 before work starts.

Questions about roller garage door replacement in County Tyrone

How do I book a survey in County Tyrone?

Start with the guide price tool or the form on this page. We then contact you to arrange a free survey for a new door, replacement or conversion, and confirm the date in writing.

Can I get a price without anyone visiting?

Yes. The guide price tool takes four steps and gives a range for your opening and door type, or the visit price for a repair. It is a guide, not a quote: the written quote comes after the survey or once the visit price is agreed.

Which towns do you cover in County Tyrone?

We cover County Tyrone, including Omagh, Dungannon, Strabane and Cookstown. Every town has its own page with local details, and you can start a guide price for any postcode in County Tyrone online.

Is VAT included in the replacement price?

Yes. Home prices are shown including VAT. Garage doors are standard-rated at 20% and there's no reduced rate for them, so the figure in your written quote is the price you pay, unless you change the specification or further work is agreed with you in writing.

Can you replace a roller door made by a different company?

Yes. We replace roller garage doors of any make, and up-and-over doors too. The old door is removed and disposed of as part of the price, so it doesn't matter who made or fitted it. What matters is the opening itself, which we measure afresh at the free survey before quoting.
