What should I know about roller garage door servicing in Merthyr Tydfil?
- On manual doors, the engineer checks the spring balance and bottom-rail locks so the curtain lifts and locks properly.
- Guide rails are cleaned and checked for wear, bends and secure fixings so the curtain can run freely.
- The curtain is checked for dented, split or slipping laths, and the bottom rail and seal for wear.
- Several doors on a private garage court or block of lock-ups can be priced together before booking.

Powered door safety

Electrics
An electric door needs a power supply near the roller box. Electrical work must meet BS 7671, and in Wales some domestic electrical work is notifiable under Part P, so it is done by a registered competent person or signed off by building control.
Roller garage door servicing in Merthyr Tydfil: questions
Do you charge more for Merthyr Tydfil than other towns in Mid Glamorgan?
No. Guide prices are the same for Merthyr Tydfil as for anywhere else we cover in Mid Glamorgan. The written quote reflects your opening and the door you choose, not your postcode, apart from islands and remote areas where any travel cost is shown in advance.
Do you repair roller doors you did not fit in Merthyr Tydfil?
Yes. We repair roller garage doors of any make in Merthyr Tydfil and across CF47 and CF48, where parts are available. If a part is no longer made, we tell you what will fit instead, or price a replacement door if that is the better option.
How much is a visit in Merthyr Tydfil?
Prices for roller garage door servicing start from £89 inc VAT, and the price is agreed before anyone comes out. Any parts not covered by that price are quoted before they are fitted, so you can decide on the spot. The guide prices are the same in Merthyr Tydfil as elsewhere we cover.
Will you fix the door on the first visit?
A fault can sometimes be found and put right on the first visit, but we never promise it. If a part needs ordering, we quote for it first, make the door safe where we can, and confirm the return date in writing.
Can you service several doors in one visit?
Yes. If you have more than one roller door, or look after a private garage court or a block of lock-ups, tell us how many doors there are and whether they're electric or manual. We'll confirm the price for all of them before booking, and any parts needed on any door are quoted before they're fitted.
Do you service roller doors you didn't fit?
Yes. We service electric and manual roller garage doors of any make, whoever fitted them. Tell us whether the door is electric or manual and the make if you know it, and we'll confirm the service price before anyone comes out. We don't service sectional or up-and-over doors.
