Rules that apply in Scotland
Powered door safety
Every powered door we fit is commissioned with force testing to BS EN 12453 and handed over with a Declaration of Conformity and UKCA or CE marking, as the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 require.
Electrics
An electric door needs a power supply near the roller box. Part P does not apply in Scotland, but electrical work must meet BS 7671 and the Scottish building standards where it forms part of building work.
Questions about roller garage door servicing in Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire
Can I get a price without anyone visiting?
Yes. The guide price tool takes four steps and gives a range for your opening and door type, or the visit price for a repair. It is a guide, not a quote: the written quote comes after the survey or once the visit price is agreed.
Are guide prices the same across Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire?
Yes. The guide prices are the same in every town in Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire. The written quote reflects your opening and the door you choose, not your postcode.
Which towns do you cover in Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire?
We cover Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire, including Stirling, Falkirk, Alloa and Grangemouth. Every town has its own page with local details, and you can start a guide price for any postcode in Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire online.
What's the difference between a service and a repair visit?
A service is a planned check of a working door: cleaning, adjusting and testing to catch problems early. A repair visit is for a door with a fault, and covers diagnosis and the first 30 minutes of work. If your door has a specific problem, tell us and we'll suggest which visit suits it before booking.
Should I oil my roller garage door?
Not unless the manufacturer's instructions say so. Many roller doors use a dry or silicone lubricant, if any at all, and the guide rails are usually best kept clean and dry. During a service, the engineer uses only the product type the manufacturer specifies for your door.
