What should I know about security-rated roller garage doors in Altrincham?
- Think about what the garage connects to, because an integral garage with a door into the house may need more protection than a detached store.
- Consider battery backup if the garage is your main way in, so the door keeps working for a limited number of cycles in a power cut.
- Count the remote fobs your household needs and plan where they'll live, as a lost fob should be recoded out of the system.
- Ask whether extras such as vision laths are covered by the door's certificate before adding them to your order.

Check first if your home is listed (listed building consent covers works that affect its character), sits in a conservation area with an Article 4 direction, or is on an estate where planning conditions or covenants control garage doors.
Security-rated roller garage doors in Altrincham: questions
How long does it take to fit a roller garage door in Altrincham?
Most single domestic roller doors are fitted in a day once the door has been made, including removing the old door. Wider doors, conversions that need building work and jobs where power has to be run can take longer; the quote says what to expect.
Do you charge more for Altrincham than other towns in Greater Manchester?
No. Guide prices are the same for Altrincham as for anywhere else we cover in Greater Manchester. The written quote reflects your opening and the door you choose, not your postcode, apart from islands and remote areas where any travel cost is shown in advance.
Is an electric roller door worth it for a garage in Altrincham?
That depends on how often you use the garage. An electric door opens from the car with a remote and has safety devices fitted, while a manual door costs less and suits occasional use. We price both for your Altrincham garage so you can compare.
How much do security-rated roller garage doors cost in Altrincham?
Our guide price for security-rated roller garage doors is from £2,295 inc VAT. The figure for your garage depends on the opening size, the door specification and any extras, and is confirmed in a written quote after a free survey. The guide prices are the same in Altrincham as elsewhere we cover.
Are security-rated roller doors also insulated?
Yes. The security-rated doors in our price list are insulated electric doors, so you get foam-filled laths that reduce heat loss, draughts and noise as well as tested resistance to forced entry. Insulated laths make a larger roll in the box, though, so the headroom above your opening is checked carefully at survey.
Is a higher LPS 1175 rating always better for a house?
A higher rating means the door resisted a more serious attack for longer in testing, but that doesn't make it the right choice for every home. Think about what the garage connects to, what's stored inside and what your insurer asks for. We'll explain the ratings available on the models we can supply and show you each certificate, so you can decide.
