What should I know about roller garage doors with vision and vent laths in Woodford Green?

Plan vision or vent laths into your order from the start, because they're built into the curtain when the door is made.
Ask whether vision or vent laths are covered by the certificate if you're choosing a security-rated door model.
Check the agreed position of the laths in your written quote, and again on fitting day before the installer finishes.
Weigh up insulation if you're choosing insulated laths, as vent laths let air through and vision laths hold less heat.

How does it work in Woodford Green?

When you're happy with the quote and accept it, we put the fitting date in writing, based on when an installer is available. The door, including its special laths, is only ordered after that acceptance.

Rules that apply in Woodford Green

Powered door safety

Every powered door we fit is commissioned with force testing to BS EN 12453 and handed over with a Declaration of Conformity and UKCA or CE marking, as the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 require.

Electrics

An electric door needs a power supply near the roller box. Electrical work must meet BS 7671, and in England some domestic electrical work is notifiable under Part P, so it is done by a registered competent person or signed off by building control.

Roller garage doors with vision and vent laths in Woodford Green: questions

Do you charge more for Woodford Green than other towns in Greater London?

No. Guide prices are the same for Woodford Green as for anywhere else we cover in Greater London. The written quote reflects your opening and the door you choose, not your postcode, apart from islands and remote areas where any travel cost is shown in advance.

How much do roller garage doors with vision and vent laths cost in Woodford Green?

Our guide price for roller garage doors with vision and vent laths is from £1,040 inc VAT. The figure for your garage depends on the opening size, the door specification and any extras, and is confirmed in a written quote after a free survey. The guide prices are the same in Woodford Green as elsewhere we cover.

Can I message you a photo of my garage in Woodford Green?

Yes. Photos of the opening, the inside of the garage above the door and any existing door help us give a more useful guide price for Woodford Green. Send them by WhatsApp or mention them in your enquiry, and we will reply in writing.

Do you cover Woodford Green?

Yes. Woodford Green is part of the area we cover in Greater London, including IG8, IG9 and IG5. Get a guide price online, then we confirm a survey or visit date in writing. Dates depend on installer and engineer availability.

Do vent laths let rain or insects into the garage?

Vent laths have openings by design, so some air movement comes with them, and in very wet, windy weather a little moisture may get in. If you store things that must stay completely dry, keep them away from the door. Think about where the vent laths sit in the curtain, and discuss it at the survey before you decide.

How do I clean vision laths?

Clean them gently, following the manufacturer's care guidance that comes with the door, and avoid abrasive cleaners or scourers that could scratch the see-through sections. Do it with the door closed and, on an electric door, make sure no one operates it while you're cleaning. Keep the guide rails clear of debris at the same time.
