Check first if your home is listed (listed building consent covers works that affect its character), sits in a conservation area with an Article 4 direction, or is on an estate where planning conditions or covenants control garage doors.

Can an aluminium roller door replace an up-and-over door?

Without swing-out arms you may gain a little clear width. Extra work, such as a new lintel or building out the reveals, is priced on survey.
