What should I know about double and wide roller garage doors in Warrington?

Measure the width of your opening at the top, middle and bottom, and use the narrowest figure for your guide price.
Make sure there's a clear route from the road to the garage, because a curtain for a wide opening is long and awkward to carry.
Think about electric operation for any opening over 4 m, since the wide doubles in our price list are all electric.
Look along the lintel for cracks or sagging, because a wide door's box is fixed along its full length.

How does it work in Warrington?

A free survey in Warrington then checks the width at several points, the lintel, headroom, floor and power. Your written quote lists the door and any structural work separately.

Rules that apply in Warrington

Structural work

Widening the opening, removing a central pier or fitting a new lintel is structural work that needs Building Regulations approval from building control before it starts.

Planning

Replacing a garage door is not usually development that needs planning permission. Check first if your home is listed (listed building consent covers works that affect its character), sits in a conservation area with an Article 4 direction, or is on an estate where planning conditions or covenants control garage doors.

Double and wide roller garage doors in Warrington: questions

Can I message you a photo of my garage in Warrington?

Yes. Photos of the opening, the inside of the garage above the door and any existing door help us give a more useful guide price for Warrington. Send them by WhatsApp or mention them in your enquiry, and we will reply in writing.

Is an electric roller door worth it for a garage in Warrington?

That depends on how often you use the garage. An electric door opens from the car with a remote and has safety devices fitted, while a manual door costs less and suits occasional use. We price both for your Warrington garage so you can compare.

Do I need permission for a new roller garage door in Warrington?

Replacing a garage door is not usually development that needs planning permission in England, and widening the opening needs building control approval. If you live in a listed building, a conservation area or on an estate with covenants or planning conditions, check before ordering.

How much do double and wide roller garage doors cost in Warrington?

Our guide price for double and wide roller garage doors is from £1,395 inc VAT. The figure for your garage depends on the opening size, the door specification and any extras, and is confirmed in a written quote after a free survey. The guide prices are the same in Warrington as elsewhere we cover.

Can I convert a double up-and-over door to a roller door?

Yes. We remove the old door and its frame, or keep the frame if it's sound, then check the lintel and reveals. The box is fitted behind the lintel and the guides to the reveals. Any extra work, such as a new lintel or building out the reveals, is priced on survey and listed separately in your written quote.

What if my garage opening is wider than 5.5 m?

We price it on survey. Openings over 5.5 m fall outside our standard price bands, because the door, the lintel and the fixing points need to be checked and specified individually. You can still use the online tool to tell us about the opening, and we'll arrange a free survey and give you a written quote.
