The only reliable way is a survey. We check that the curtain runs smoothly, the laths are undamaged, and the barrel, box and guide rails are sound and compatible with a tubular motor. If they are, we quote for the conversion; if not, we explain why and price a new electric door so you can compare the two.

A converted door gets a pressure-sensitive safety edge on the bottom rail and, where the risk assessment calls for them, photocells across the opening. These stop or reverse the door if it touches or detects an obstruction. After fitting, the closing force is tested to BS EN 12453, and you receive a Declaration of Conformity along with the rest of the handover paperwork.
