What should I know about remote control and keypad upgrades in County Londonderry?

Smart receivers let you open and close the door from a phone app where the garage has dependable Wi-Fi.
Handsets and keypads are priced individually, so your confirmation shows the visit and each item you have chosen.
Rolling-code handsets are matched to your door's receiver, paired during the visit and tested before we leave.
A wireless keypad mounted beside the door lets you open the garage with a private code instead of a handset.

Rules that apply in Northern Ireland

Powered door safety

Every powered door we fit is commissioned with force testing to BS EN 12453 and handed over with a Declaration of Conformity and CE marking, which is the marking that applies to machinery placed on the market in Northern Ireland.

Electrics

An electric door needs a power supply near the roller box. Part P does not apply in Northern Ireland, but electrical work must still meet BS 7671 and be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Questions about remote control and keypad upgrades in County Londonderry

Are guide prices the same across County Londonderry?

Yes. The guide prices are the same in every town in County Londonderry. The written quote reflects your opening and the door you choose, not your postcode.

Can I get a price without anyone visiting?

Yes. The guide price tool takes four steps and gives a range for your opening and door type, or the visit price for a repair. It is a guide, not a quote: the written quote comes after the survey or once the visit price is agreed.

Which towns do you cover in County Londonderry?

We cover County Londonderry, including Derry/Londonderry, Coleraine, Limavady and Magherafelt. Every town has its own page with local details, and you can start a guide price for any postcode in County Londonderry online.

Can I buy a remote online and code it myself?

Sometimes, but only if the handset is compatible with your receiver, and many aren't. Rolling-code systems need the right handset type and the correct pairing steps from the motor maker. If you'd rather not risk buying the wrong one, tell us the make of your control box and we'll supply matched handsets and pair them during the visit.

Will recoding stop a lost fob from working?

Yes. Recoding clears the receiver's memory of paired handsets and then adds back only the ones you still have, plus any new ones. The lost or stolen fob is no longer recognised, so it can't open the door. It's sensible to do this after moving house as well, when you can't be sure how many handsets exist.
