What should I know about remote control and keypad upgrades in Greater London?
- Recoding after moving house means only the handsets you hold can open the door, whatever the previous owners kept.
- A wireless keypad mounted beside the door lets you open the garage with a private code instead of a handset.
- Recoding clears the receiver's memory so a lost or stolen fob can no longer open your garage door.
- Rolling-code handsets are matched to your door's receiver, paired during the visit and tested before we leave.

Rules that apply in England
Powered door safety
Every powered door we fit is commissioned with force testing to BS EN 12453 and handed over with a Declaration of Conformity and UKCA or CE marking, as the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 require.
Electrics
An electric door needs a power supply near the roller box. Electrical work must meet BS 7671, and in England some domestic electrical work is notifiable under Part P, so it is done by a registered competent person or signed off by building control.
Questions about remote control and keypad upgrades in Greater London
Are guide prices the same across Greater London?
Yes. The guide prices are the same in every town in Greater London. The written quote reflects your opening and the door you choose, not your postcode.
Which towns do you cover in Greater London?
We cover Greater London, including Westminster, Islington, Sutton and Croydon. Every town has its own page with local details, and you can start a guide price for any postcode in Greater London online.
Can I get a price without anyone visiting?
Yes. The guide price tool takes four steps and gives a range for your opening and door type, or the visit price for a repair. It is a guide, not a quote: the written quote comes after the survey or once the visit price is agreed.
Will recoding stop a lost fob from working?
Yes. Recoding clears the receiver's memory of paired handsets and then adds back only the ones you still have, plus any new ones. The lost or stolen fob is no longer recognised, so it can't open the door. It's sensible to do this after moving house as well, when you can't be sure how many handsets exist.
Where is a wireless keypad fitted?
A wireless keypad is usually mounted on the wall outside, close to the garage door and at a comfortable height, so you can open the door without a handset. It communicates with the receiver without a cable to the control box. You choose the code, and you can change it later if you need to.
