What should I know about remote control and keypad upgrades in Surrey?

  • Recoding clears the receiver's memory so a lost or stolen fob can no longer open your garage door.
  • Smart receivers let you open and close the door from a phone app where the garage has dependable Wi-Fi.
  • Handsets and keypads are priced individually, so your confirmation shows the visit and each item you have chosen.
  • A wireless keypad mounted beside the door lets you open the garage with a private code instead of a handset.

Rules that apply in England

Powered door safety

Every powered door we fit is commissioned with force testing to BS EN 12453 and handed over with a Declaration of Conformity and UKCA or CE marking, as the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 require.

Electrics

An electric door needs a power supply near the roller box. Electrical work must meet BS 7671, and in England some domestic electrical work is notifiable under Part P, so it is done by a registered competent person or signed off by building control.

Questions about remote control and keypad upgrades in Surrey

Are guide prices the same across Surrey?

Yes. The guide prices are the same in every town in Surrey. The written quote reflects your opening and the door you choose, not your postcode.

Which towns do you cover in Surrey?

We cover Surrey, including Woking, Guildford, Redhill and Staines-upon-Thames. Every town has its own page with local details, and you can start a guide price for any postcode in Surrey online.

How do I book a visit in Surrey?

Tell us what the door is doing using the form on this page, by phone or on WhatsApp. We confirm the visit price before anyone comes out, then confirm the date in writing.

Where is a wireless keypad fitted?

A wireless keypad is usually mounted on the wall outside, close to the garage door and at a comfortable height, so you can open the door without a handset. It communicates with the receiver without a cable to the control box. You choose the code, and you can change it later if you need to.

Can I buy a remote online and code it myself?

Sometimes, but only if the handset is compatible with your receiver, and many aren't. Rolling-code systems need the right handset type and the correct pairing steps from the motor maker. If you'd rather not risk buying the wrong one, tell us the make of your control box and we'll supply matched handsets and pair them during the visit.
