What should I know about smart roller garage doors in Crowborough?

Find out whether there is a socket or fused spur near the box, as a smart receiver needs an electric door with power.
Only close the door from the app when you know the opening is clear, and keep testing the safety devices monthly.
Decide who in the household should have app access, and plan how you will remove access when someone no longer needs it.
Check the Wi-Fi signal on your phone at the top of the garage opening, since the receiver needs a reliable connection there.

How does it work in Crowborough?

A free survey in Crowborough then measures the opening and checks the power supply and Wi-Fi signal where the receiver will go. Your written quote lists the door, receiver and any extras.

Rules that apply in Crowborough

Electrics

An electric door needs a power supply near the roller box. Electrical work must meet BS 7671, and in England some domestic electrical work is notifiable under Part P, so it is done by a registered competent person or signed off by building control.

Powered door safety

Every powered door we fit is commissioned with force testing to BS EN 12453 and handed over with a Declaration of Conformity and UKCA or CE marking, as the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 require.

Smart roller garage doors in Crowborough: questions

Can I message you a photo of my garage in Crowborough?

Yes. Photos of the opening, the inside of the garage above the door and any existing door help us give a more useful guide price for Crowborough. Send them by WhatsApp or mention them in your enquiry, and we will reply in writing.

Can I get a price for Crowborough without anyone visiting?

Yes. The guide price tool takes four steps and gives a range for your opening and door type. It is a guide, not a quote: the written quote comes after the survey or once the visit price is agreed.

How much do smart roller garage doors cost in Crowborough?

Our guide price for smart roller garage doors is from £1,290 inc VAT. The figure for your garage depends on the opening size, the door specification and any extras, and is confirmed in a written quote after a free survey. The guide prices are the same in Crowborough as elsewhere we cover.

Do you charge more for Crowborough than other towns in East Sussex?

No. Guide prices are the same for Crowborough as for anywhere else we cover in East Sussex. The written quote reflects your opening and the door you choose, not your postcode, apart from islands and remote areas where any travel cost is shown in advance.

What happens to a smart garage door if the Wi-Fi goes down?

The app may stop responding until the Wi-Fi or internet connection comes back, but the door itself keeps working. Your remote fobs talk to the door directly, and any keypad or key switch works as normal. The door doesn't rely on the internet to open and close, only to take instructions from the app.

Can several people control the door from their phones?

Usually, yes, though how access is shared depends on the app and receiver your door uses. It's worth keeping a list of who has access, and removing anyone who no longer needs it, in the same way you'd keep track of keys and fobs. Ask about sharing at the survey if it matters to you.
