What should I know about smart roller garage doors in Bishop's Stortford?

Think about whether a Wi-Fi extender or mesh point may be needed if the garage is detached or behind thick walls.
Only close the door from the app when you know the opening is clear, and keep testing the safety devices monthly.
Keep your remote fobs as well as the app, because they operate the door directly even when the internet is down.
Ask which features the smart receiver offers, such as showing whether the door is open, before you order it.

Smart roller garage doors in Bishop's Stortford: questions

Can you remove my old garage door in Bishop's Stortford?

Yes. Every door price includes removing and disposing of an old roller or up-and-over door at your Bishop's Stortford address, along with standard fixings and making good to the reveals. If the frame or lintel needs work, we price it at the survey before you agree.

Can I get a price for Bishop's Stortford without anyone visiting?

Yes. The guide price tool takes four steps and gives a range for your opening and door type. It is a guide, not a quote: the written quote comes after the survey or once the visit price is agreed.

Is an electric roller door worth it for a garage in Bishop's Stortford?

That depends on how often you use the garage. An electric door opens from the car with a remote and has safety devices fitted, while a manual door costs less and suits occasional use. We price both for your Bishop's Stortford garage so you can compare.

Do you cover Bishop's Stortford?

Yes. Bishop's Stortford is part of the area we cover in Hertfordshire, including CM23, CM22 and CM24. Get a guide price online, then we confirm a survey or visit date in writing. Dates depend on installer and engineer availability.

Does a smart garage door work with voice assistants?

Some smart receivers can link to voice assistants or home automation systems, but it varies from one receiver to another. If that matters to you, tell us at the survey and we'll confirm what the receiver for your door supports before you order. Think carefully before allowing voice commands to open the door, for security.

Can several people control the door from their phones?

Usually, yes, though how access is shared depends on the app and receiver your door uses. It's worth keeping a list of who has access, and removing anyone who no longer needs it, in the same way you'd keep track of keys and fobs. Ask about sharing at the survey if it matters to you.
