Yes. Every door price includes removing and disposing of an old roller or up-and-over door at your York address, along with standard fixings and making good to the reveals. If the frame or lintel needs work, we price it at the survey before you agree.

Yes. For a new door, a replacement or a conversion, the survey is free and there is no obligation to go ahead. We measure the opening, check the lintel, headroom, side room and power, and send a written quote afterwards.

Replacing a garage door is not usually development that needs planning permission in England, and widening the opening needs building control approval. If you live in a listed building, a conservation area or on an estate with covenants or planning conditions, check before ordering.

At a survey in YO1 we measure the width and height of the opening, the headroom above it for the roller box, the side room for the guide rails and the floor level. We also look at the lintel and where power can come from for an electric door.

The app may stop responding until the Wi-Fi or internet connection comes back, but the door itself keeps working. Your remote fobs talk to the door directly, and any keypad or key switch works as normal. The door doesn't rely on the internet to open and close, only to take instructions from the app.

If your door is already electric, a smart receiver can often be added on a visit, with the price agreed before we come out. The motor and control box need to be compatible, which we check first. If your door is manual, it would need converting to electric before smart control could be added, and that depends on its condition.
