An electric door needs a power supply near the roller box. Electrical work must meet BS 7671, and in Wales some domestic electrical work is notifiable under Part P, so it is done by a registered competent person or signed off by building control.

Powered door safety

Every powered door we fit is commissioned with force testing to BS EN 12453 and handed over with a Declaration of Conformity and UKCA or CE marking, as the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 require.

On an existing door, adding or recoding remotes, or changing the receiver, is done on a visit whose price is agreed before we come out. Keep a note of how many handsets you have, so any lost ones can be dealt with.
