What should I know about made-to-measure roller garage doors in Coalville?

Note any piers, downpipes or meter boxes outside the opening that could affect a face-fixed door or box.
Check the height at both sides and in the middle, since an uneven floor can make one side of the opening taller than the other.
Check the clear wall either side of the opening, since the guide rails typically need around 75 to 100 mm each side.
Look for pipes, cables or lights near the top of the opening inside, because they may need moving to make room for the box.

Rules that apply in Coalville

Structural work

Widening the opening, removing a central pier or fitting a new lintel is structural work that needs Building Regulations approval from building control before it starts.

Planning

Replacing a garage door is not usually development that needs planning permission. Check first if your home is listed (listed building consent covers works that affect its character), sits in a conservation area with an Article 4 direction, or is on an estate where planning conditions or covenants control garage doors.

Made-to-measure roller garage doors in Coalville: questions

Do you charge more for Coalville than other towns in Leicestershire?

No. Guide prices are the same for Coalville as for anywhere else we cover in Leicestershire. The written quote reflects your opening and the door you choose, not your postcode, apart from islands and remote areas where any travel cost is shown in advance.

What do you check at a survey in LE67?

At a survey in LE67 we measure the width and height of the opening, the headroom above it for the roller box, the side room for the guide rails and the floor level. We also look at the lintel and where power can come from for an electric door.

Can I message you a photo of my garage in Coalville?

Yes. Photos of the opening, the inside of the garage above the door and any existing door help us give a more useful guide price for Coalville. Send them by WhatsApp or mention them in your enquiry, and we will reply in writing.

How much do made-to-measure roller garage doors cost in Coalville?

Our guide price for made-to-measure roller garage doors is from £1,495 inc VAT. The figure for your garage depends on the opening size, the door specification and any extras, and is confirmed in a written quote after a free survey. The guide prices are the same in Coalville as elsewhere we cover.

Can I order a made-to-measure door without a survey?

We don't order doors from customer measurements alone. The door is built to sizes taken at our free survey, where we also check the lintel, headroom, floor and power. That way, if the door doesn't fit, getting the sizes right is our job, not yours. Your own measurements are still useful for the online guide price before the survey.

Is a made-to-measure door more expensive than a standard size?

Our prices are set in width bands, and the door within each band is built to your measured sizes. The guide price changes when an opening moves into a wider band, or when it needs work beyond the door itself, such as a new lintel or building out the reveals. That extra work is priced on survey and shown on its own line in your written quote.
